Another journalist once told me that if my sources were happy with my work, I wasn't doing my job. While I understand his thinking -- after all, if journalists are in this field to please those we write about, we're in the wrong field -- I do think that in forming relationships with my sources, whether it's for the hour I'm covering an event or over years spent covering a municipality or school board, I am accountable for what I write. Sources don't have to like me, but they do deserve fairness and accuracy.

This is what some have had to say about my writing:

"Ada Township has had a number of reporters over the past few years, and I feel Ms. Jarema is the most accurate and professional of those assigned here. Her knowledge of township government is reflected in the articles she writes, therefore her skill is accurate and fair reporting for both sides."
      A West Michigan Township Clerk

"Morgan Jarema stepped into my life as the main editor for Rat Race Relaxer, my first non-fiction book. She has mastered those sticky English rules that most of us forget when we leave the classroom. Morgan brings enthusiasm, thoroughness, intelligence and dedication to every project. She is quick to respond to questions, sensitive to deadlines and tactful but tough. The thing I like most about Morgan's editing approach is her willingness to ask questions and express her opinion in order to bring out the author’s best work. Her wisdom and experience added more merit to my book than I can find words to express. I can't imagine finding a better editor than Morgan Jarema; she has earned a permanent place on my speed-dial."
JoAnna Carey, author, The Rat Race Relaxer

"Morgan wrote articles for Builder Track Magazine on numerous occasions. Of all the writers we used at that time, Morgan was the easiest to get a good article from. She is very quick to grasp the thrust of the work required. We would give her an assignment and in what seemed an impossibly short time we received a well written, on point, article back. Made me redefine what I thought a writer could do."
Blair Murphy, Publisher, Builder Track Magazine

"Morgan is a really hard-working news reporter who has been very informed on government issues because she works at asking good questions…"
      A West Michigan Township Supervisor

"Morgan has been doing a fine job of keeping Press readers informed of the progress of this complex $31 million building project. We appreciate her thoroughness."
A West Michigan Public Library System Communications Director

"I loved this reporter. Morgan was easy to contact when I needed to return phone calls, and she called me when she said she would. I think she did a fair, accurate, great article."
